Privacy Policy

We understand that privacy online is important to users of BrokersWiki.com (BrokersWiki), especially when conducting business. This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to those users of the BrokersWiki who visit without transacting business (Visitors) and those who register to transact business on the BrokersWiki and make use of the various services (Services) offered by BrokersWiki (Authorized Customers).

Personally Identifiable Information refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, financial profiles, social security number, and credit card information. Personally Identifiable Information does not include information that is collected anonymously (that is, without identification of the individual user) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected?

We may (but currently don’t!) collect basic user profile information from all of our Visitors. We collect the following additional information from our Authorized Customers: the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, the nature and size of the business and the nature and size of the advertising inventory that the Authorized Customer intends to purchase or sell.

What Organizations are Collecting the Information?

In addition to our direct collection of information, our third party service vendors (such as credit card companies, brokers, services providers) who may provide such services as credit, insurance, and escrow services may collect this information from our Visitors and Authorized Customers. We do not control how these third parties use such information. Some of these third parties may be intermediaries that act solely as links in the distribution chain, and do not store, retain, or use the information given to them.

Cookies and Web Beacons

We may (but currently don’t!) use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our site.

We use advertising to fund the free service we offer. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program, Chitika, Amazon, and others) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

We also use third party analytical services, including Google Analytics, Statcounter, and Quantcast. These services may collect some of the personally identifiable information from you and we use these data to better know who are our visitors in general and help us to improve the quality of our website by delivering more interesting information.

You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as NOD 32, or by opting-out of targeted/behavioural ads from either of these networks by following their instructions found on their websites. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts. Please note that opting out of a advertising network does not mean you will no longer see online advertising. Instead, it means that you will no longer see targeted/behavioural advertising (i.e. advertising tailored to your browsing history, preferences and usage patterns) via the network from which you have opted out.

If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this information used by these companies, click here.

  • Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site.
  • Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

What Happens if the Privacy Policy Changes?

We will let our Visitors and Authorized Customers know about changes to our privacy policy by posting such changes on BrokersWiki. However, if we are changing our privacy policy in a manner that might cause disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information that a Visitor or Authorized Customer has previously requested not be disclosed, we will contact such Visitor or Authorized Customer to allow such Visitor or Authorized Customer to prevent such disclosure.
